Our Program

Venture Upward partners with HI school districts where your students (K-12) enroll in that district’s online school program. Enrolling in a school that partners with Venture provides you with flexibility, excellence in curriculum, comprehensive teacher support, a supportive community, and adaptable tools you need for your students and family to thrive. It is all tuition free!

After enrollment is processed, your students will be assigned a dedicated teacher that will be with you every step of the way. Even if your family is a veteran at home education, teachers will be there to provide the amount of support that is right for you.

Your family will be guided by your teacher to select and tailor curriculum for your students (K-12). You will also select extracurricular activities like Venture School or subscription boxes. Field trips and community service events are also included!

You will be guided by your teacher to select how to use your Venture Reward–educational supplies that will be purchased for them to use for a complete and enriching experience.

Hawai’i Curriculum Choices

Each K-6 student in Hawai’i meets state standards by working in HAAS-approved curriculum in the four core subjects of language arts, math, science, and social studies. These curriculums are chosen with careful guidance from the student’s Teacher. Weekly pacing is based on a four-day week and is required in each of these four core subjects.

In addition, students in grades K-6 participate in our Standards Alignment Week to complete module work which cover standards that may not be initially covered in coursework. And students in grades K-3 reading below a 4th grade level participate in a fun early literacy program of their choosing.

Each quarter K-6 students are required to participate in a standards alignment week. During this week students are not required to work in their chosen online curriculum resources, but instead work in our Venture-Created module courses. These courses meet state standards for their grade in art, health, and PE, as well as any standards that are not included in their chosen online curriculum. Some curricula have no gaps and require no module work.

A variety of curriculum resource options that allow you to customize an educational path for your students. The HAAS team is excited to learn more about your student’s needs and help guide you in the selection of courses.
