Meet the Taylor Family

For the Taylor family, home education has been a life-changing journey of discovery, creativity, and togetherness. Brittany and Josh, married for 12 years, are raising six energetic children in Arizona—Ceciley (9), Sawyer (8), Sloane (6), Isla (5), Atlas (3), and Easton (1). With Josh working from home, learning is a true family effort.

After facing unaddressed concerns at their local school, Brittany and Josh took a more proactive role in their children’s education. Home education gave them the freedom to embrace a curiosity-driven learning experience. They first heard about Venture Upward through a friend, and Venture School’s enrichment program has been “the cherry on top,” providing social connections, enrichment classes, and exciting field trips. Their “easy plus” approach focuses on the basics while adding in subjects and activities as they can.

Since starting their home education journey last year, the Taylors have been amazed by their children’s creativity and enthusiasm. The kids are thriving academically, pursuing independent research and projects. Inspired by their success, Brittany’s sister also chose to home educate, giving them an instant support system and growing community.

Music, dancing, and LEGO Robotics are household favorites. The girls love ballet, the family enjoys swimming, and the kids spend time playing at a beloved family acreage they call “the desert.” They also cherish their large extended family, regularly gathering with cousins for fun-filled adventures. Brittany and Josh love watching their children develop a passion for learning. For the Taylor family, education isn’t just about academics—it’s about fostering curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.
