Job Description For: Idaho High School Business Teacher

As a teacher at Venture Upward, you will play a key role in delivering a high-quality educational experience and ensuring students’ academic success. You will manage various daily, weekly, and long-term responsibilities, from tracking time and monitoring students’ weekly progress in your classes to providing tutoring for students in the subject matter. You will maintain strong communication with families, support students’ academic progress, and contribute to key administrative processes throughout the year.
Hours Required: 5 hours a week
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Daily/Weekly Duties:
- Time Tracking: Accurately track work hours using PayClock.
- Updated Records: Keep student tracking documents updated weekly.
- Stay Informed: Read weekly check-in emails sent by Mentor Teacher.
- Outreach: Contact any students who are behind in your classes.
- Office Hours & Tutoring: Hold one weekly office hour session and offer tutoring as needed.
- Grading & Feedback: Grade student submissions and update the grade book promptly, ensuring communication with students and families on academic progress.
Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Duties:
- SST and Academic Support: Work closely with the SST coordinator to monitor student progress and ensure necessary interventions and accommodations are in place.
- Meetings & Collaboration: Attend monthly team, SST/IEP/504 meetings, and other necessary training or school-related meetings.

Employment Type: Part-time position, Flexible/Remote
Hours: 5 hours per week
Compensation: $25/hr
Licenses/Degrees: Idaho Licensed Secondary Teacher in needed subjects
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to engage families and support students in various learning environments.
- Familiarity with SST/IEP/504 processes and educational assessments is preferred.
- Experience working in a flexible, remote learning environment is a plus.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Student Engagement & Support: Ensure students receive the appropriate support and resources for academic success, including creating individualized pacing guides.
- End-of-Year Tasks: Assist with graduation requirements, re-enrollment surveys, and curriculum changes for the upcoming school year.
Technical / Equipment:
- Reliable computer and high-speed internet access
- Proficient with Google Suites, including Google Docs, Sheets, and Meet
Other Requirements:
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Professional and approachable demeanor for interacting with team members and families.
- Flexibility to step in and support operational tasks as needed.
- Will need to complete onboarding with our partner district, Twin Falls School District.
