Job Description Special Education Case Manager

This Special Education Teacher position supports our partnership schools by providing high-quality special education services, collaborating with families and school teams on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and ensuring compliance with all federal and state requirements. This role also provides guidance and resources to help families understand their child’s needs, works closely with general education teachers to support inclusive practices, and advocates for appropriate interventions and accommodations. Special Education Teachers report to the Director of Special Services. This is a part-time position at 15-20 hours a week.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Developing Multidisciplinary Team Evaluation (MET) Reports and IEPs.
  • Developing and implementing research-based direct instruction for students on IEPs.
  • Helping to coordinate services for students with IEPs.
  • Filling out and maintaining quarterly progress reports.
  • Coordinating with general education teachers and the Director of Special Services on best practices.

  • Reports To: Director of Special Services
  • Employment Type: Part-time position
  • Hours: 15–20 hours per week
  • Compensation: $28/hr with current special education license.

Licenses/Degrees: A valid teaching license is required. A Bachelor’s degree in Special Education – K-12 preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Experience working with families of students with IEPs in the virtual setting is desired, but not required.
  • Experience working with families of students with IEPs and 504s.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to represent executive leadership professionally.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust-based relationships across teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting executive workflows, including scheduling systems, spreadsheets, data organization, and digital productivity tools.
  • Comfort leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to improve efficiency, organization, and executive support processes.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining close alignment with executive priorities and leadership expectations.

Technical / Equipment:

  • Reliable computer and high-speed internet access
  • Proficiency with Google Suites, including Google Sheets, Google Docs, and Google Meet.

  • Flexibility to step in and support operational tasks as needed.
