Job Description For: Venture School Site Manager

Role Summary: Venture School Site Managers are responsible for creating, organizing, and leading their local Venture School while fostering a safe, respectful, and uplifting environment where the love of learning can take root and thrive. They oversee every aspect of the site’s culture, operations, staff, and family experience, ensuring students feel inspired, instructors feel supported, and families feel connected.

Venture School operates one day each week for approximately 4.5 hours. A typical school day includes four enrichment classes and a lunch period, with classes lasting approximately 45–60 minutes. School sizes range from approximately 30 to 100 students, with average class sizes of 15–20 students. Venture School classes are designed to complement home education through engaging, hands-on enrichment experiences rather than replace core academic instruction.

Culture Builder: While instructors shape individual classrooms, you shape the entire Venture School experience. Through your leadership, you create the culture where instructors grow, students thrive, and families feel connected. Your influence multiplies the impact of every classroom and ensures Venture School becomes the highlight of each family’s week.

You are responsible for protecting the Venture School culture by ensuring every instructor lives the Five Pillars, embraces the Instructor Promise, and creates classrooms where every child is seen, inspired, and excited to learn.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Site Leadership & Program Management

  • Lead and protect a Venture School culture where every child is seen, inspired, and known.

  • Partner with the Regional Manager to continually strengthen the site’s quality and culture.
  • Make decisions that support student success, staff growth, and operational excellence.

Site Planning & Operations

  • Coordinate daily operations, the yearly calendar, schedules, Open House, and logistics for the Venture School.
  • Maintain organized systems, attendance records, documentation, and operational procedures.
  • Manage staffing, substitute coverage, budgets, supply approvals, and site resources.
  • Ensure all reports, documentation, and deadlines are completed accurately and on time.
  • Collaborate with leadership to continually improve site operations and family experience.

Instructional Leadership & Staff Development

  • Recruit, onboard, mentor, and support outstanding instructors and assistants.
  • Conduct classroom observations, provide coaching, and help instructors continually improve their instructional practice.
  • Ensure instruction reflects the Venture Lesson Framework, academic rigor, hands-on learning, and meaningful “whoa” moments.
  • Support instructors as they progress through the Venture Instructor Career Path by celebrating excellence and developing growth plans.
  • Lead regular staff meetings that reinforce culture, celebrate student success, and encourage collaboration.

Family Experience & Community

  • Serve as the primary relationship builder for Venture School families.
  • Communicate regularly with families through weekly updates and timely responses.
  • Create a welcoming school community through Open Houses, special events, and ongoing engagement.
  • Foster partnerships that build trust, belonging, and long-term family satisfaction.
  • Moderate local communication channels in a professional and mission-aligned manner.

Safety & Student Success

  • Maintain a physically and emotionally safe learning environment for students and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with Venture School policies, procedures, and safety expectations.
  • Support instructors in creating positive, inclusive classrooms where every student feels valued.
  • Respond calmly and appropriately to student, family, staffing, or safety concerns.
  • Maintain accurate attendance, behavior, incident, and safety documentation.

Events & Community Building

  • Lead adVENTURE Days, showcases, fairs, field days, service opportunities, and other enrichment events.
  • Coordinate staff, logistics, communication, and supplies for school-wide events.
  • Create meaningful opportunities for students and families to build friendships and community.
  • Celebrate student learning through memorable experiences that strengthen Venture School culture.

Position Details & Compensation
Department: Operations
Reports To: Venture School Regional Manager
Employment Type: Part-time
Hours: Approximately 10 hours per week. Hours may increase at the beginning of the school year and new semester, reaching up to approximately 20 hours per week based on site needs.
Compensation: $27.50 per hour

Qualifications (Licenses/Degrees)

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in leadership, management, teaching, homeschooling, youth programs, childcare, or educational programming.
  • Experience supervising staff, volunteers, or teams.
  • Experience communicating professionally with families and coordinating programs or events.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with homeschool families or enrichment programs.
  • Experience coaching or mentoring educators.
  • Experience supporting students with diverse learning, behavioral, or social needs.

Technical / Equipment Requirements

  • Reliable computer and high-speed internet access.
  • Front-facing camera and screen recording capabilities.
  • Proficient with Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, and Google Meet.
